TONIGHT: International Student Teach-In on the Budget Crisis

International Student Teach-In on the Budget Cuts:

6-8pm in the Multicultural Center in MLK.
Hosted by International Students Association at Berkeley

The event will highlight the effects of the budget cuts on international students. This event is especially important because an increase in international students is being used to help make up the budget deficit for the UC system, reducing the number of resident Californians who are admitted. This is something that International students have not asked for and do not want, and it is important for us to come together so that we can act in solidarity against the cuts.

Come to the Teach-In to learn about the tremendous financial challenges posed by the proposed (or continuing) fee increases, the reduced funding for already lacking support services for international students, and the heightening of a general misconception about international students due to the budget crisis.

Time: 6pm Monday November 16th
Venue: Multicultural Center, MLK Student Union

Speakers:
Professor Darren Zook, Political Science
Professor Bob Jacobsen, Physics
/
Ariel Boone, ASUC Senator
Farren Briggs, International Graduate Student
Margrethe Nergaard, Concurrent Enrollment & Exchange Student
Viola Tang, International Undergraduate Student
